Basic pottery
techniques
Starting: Soon
Times: Weekday evenings 7pm - 9pm
Duration: 10 weeks
Cost: £150 (all materials and firings included)
Teachers: Susan O'Byrne and Bruno Gallagher

Left: Raku fired clock by class participant, Kath Innes, 2010. Right: the same clock, as it was being lifted out of the raku kiln, with pottery class participants looking on.
These classes are a great introduction
to basic ceramics techniques,
including hand building using coiling and slabs, working on the potter's wheel, mould making, working from a model and glazing. The classes culminate with an exciting outdoor raku firing. The final three weeks are dedicated to a
personal project which you can develop using your new found skills.
Class sizes are small, affording everyone one to one time and individual attention from the teachers. Participants are encouraged to explore their creativity in a fun and relaxing environment. A perfect way to unwind after work or something different to do with friends.
The classes are suitable for beginner and intermediate levels. They are also perfect as professional development for primary and secondary school art teachers. Classes run for 10 weeks and the cost includes all
materials, firings, snacks and refreshments. All tools and equipment
provided.
If you are interested in attending, please contact Susan O'Byrne at the studio on (0141) 550 8030 or directly on 07752 104 623. Gift vouchers are also available.
Please note that the current session started on August 30th and enrollments are now closed. The classes do run regularly however, so please feel free to contact Susan about the start date for the next session at any time.
