Pottery Taster Sessions

Our Taster Sessions offer a great introductory experience to working with clay, whether on the potter's wheel or using handbuilding techniques such as slab building or coiling.

If you've always wanted to give it a go, but are not sure you want to commit to a whole course, the taster session is for you. Join up with your partner, friends or family and have a really fun experience doing something different! Our Taster Sessions also make great gifts.

The recommended minimum duration for pottery taster sessions is two hours, which gives you ample time to view a demonstration and try your hand at making a number of pieces. You can make as much work as you like during the workshop and after we glaze and fire it for you it will be yours to take home. The glazes we use are all food safe. You should generally expect to wait about three to four weeks before your work will be ready for collection. The cost for two hours for one person is £95, for each additional person there is a fee of £25.00. This includes all materials, glazes and firings.

We can accommodate up to nine people at a time on the wheel, and 10 people at a time handbuilding. We can cater for groups of up to 16 people (these require two tutors) and there is the option of either booking two workshops (one handbuilding and one throwing) to run concurrently, or the groups can swap over after an hour to experience both.
