Full Studio Membership

Currently the cost for full studio membership is £155 per month. This includes:

  • 24 hour access
  • Personal studio space with storage
  • Full access to studio facilities (drying room, glazing room and kiln room)
  • Discounted firings
  • WiFi, heating and electricity

There is a £25 induction fee to familiarise you with studio procedure. Materials are not included.

Rent increases each year in line with WASPS charges. A refundable key deposit of £30 is payable to WASPS on entry to the studio.

Each member is required to volunteer some of their time each month to communal studio upkeep and maintenance.

We keep a list of notes of interest in our workspaces, but spaces are no longer allocated on a first come basis, but by application. This is because...

  • We don’t have staff (in order to keep rental costs down), and rely on members to comit 10 hour per month to help running the studio. Therefore, we sometimes require members to have skill sets in certain areas, so it depends on who is the best fit all round when a space comes up.
  • We only let full spaces to artists who have enough experience in ceramics to work independently and try to maintain a balance of 50:50, full-time members: part-time members. At the moment (and pre-Covid) most of our members have become part-time which means we currently prioritise artists who already have or wish to pursue a full-time career in ceramics.
  • We also assess our ability to provide the facilities for individual makers on a case-by-case basis. e.g., we do not have the space to facilitate large scale production potters, or artists whose work may impede (in terms of health and safety) on others.

If you are interested in a full space in our Studio:

  • Please contact us via email, let us know your circumstances and why you would like a full space. It would also be helpful to keep in touch regularly as we can sometimes offer sublets, or short term lets.
  • Please arrange to visit our studio (if you have not already done so) by appointment when restrictions allow.
  • Keep an eye on our social media, where we will have a call out for applicants for a full space, when one comes up. The full details of how to apply will be in the listing.
  • If appropriate to your circumstances, you may wish to consider applying for our internships, which includes a free small studio space for the duration of the internship. Applications for internships will be announced on our social media platforms.
